The aim of the project is to establish high speed scanning atomic force microscopy (AFM) at NTNU, in order to improve the efficiency of data acquisition as regards the different picture modes, distinction of structure and dynamic processes of biological molecules, power spectroscopy and mapping nano mechanical qualities. AFM will be used as a tool for understanding aspects of soft material assembly, in order to map the topography, specific recognition seats and mechanical qualities of hydrogels and bio-polymer multi-layers, in order to study biological macro molecules, their interactions and structural dynamics and their role in immunological signal cascades, disease development and soft material assembly.
