Development of Olav Kyrres Gate in Bergen

County road 585/E16 Olav Kyrres gate is currently one of Bergen's busiest areas for public transport stops and was last altered in the early 1990s. The street is now being improved with universal design and better accessibility for passengers and other pedestrians than what currently exists. A new light rail from Fyllingsdalen will come into the centre, with a new end station in Kaigaten. Before this work can start, the development of county road 585/E16 Olav Kyrres gate between Småstrandgaten and Vaskerelven must be completed. Olav Kyrres gate will be closed for ordinary traffic for approx. 1 year whilst the work is being carried out. The pavements and pedestrian crossings must be kept open. Fire and ambulance stand-by services must have access throughout the entire construction period.
