A group of 11 independent Finnish distribution network operators operating electricity networks in urban areas (Alva Sähköverkko Oy, Helen Sähköverkko Oy, Kuopion Sähköverkko Oy, Lappeenrannan Energiaverkot Oy, LE-Sähköverkko Oy, Oulun Energia Siirto ja Jakelu Oy, Pori Energia Sähköverkot Oy, Tampereen Sähköverkko Oy, Turku Energia Sähköverkot Oy, Vaasan Sähköverkko Oy, Vantaan Energia Sähköverkot Oy; together referred as KV11 group) has decided to conduct a request for information regarding next generation smart meters and metering systems and services. Network companies belonging to the KV11 group have a total of about 1.3 million customers. The purpose of the request is to map the market regarding current and future remotely readable smart metering solutions, including smart electricity meters, meter reading systems, and other smart metering related services. The aim is to receive information about cost-efficient, innovative and high-quality smart metering solutions that match to the Finnish electricity market needs and can fulfill the KV11 group companies’ needs for the whole 10–15 years lifecycle.
