Lofotkraft has been given the permission to expand the existing Kleppestad transformer station, as well as the construction of the new Kvitfossen transformer station.
The systems are a part of an extensive upgrading of the voltage for the regional network in Lofoten, cf. resolution NVE 201202211-157.
The new Kvitfossen transformer station shall be constructed on a recently acquired area and comprises a station building with a basal area of approx. 420 m2 and an accompanying service building with an area of approx. 125 m2.
Kleppestad transformer station is planned to be expanded with an indoor 132 kV gas insulated switchgear station with a control room. The area of the expansion is approx. 135 m2.
Both station buildings will be made of concrete, steel and wood structures. The building will be executed with submerged cable basements and pits for collecting any oil leaks. The transformer cell and structured in the ground shall be made of reinforced concrete cast on-site. The outer walls in the lower building with requirements for indoor temperature shall be made of insulated wall studd in steel or wood.
The service building in Kvitfossen shall be built close to main building and in connect to the main building with an inbuilt corridor. This building shall be executed in accordance with normal domestic building standard.
An access road and parking areas to the building in Kvitfossen shall be established as well as construction of a driving area round the addition at Kleppestad.
