Department of Biological and Chemical Engineering at Aarhus University wants to purchase three multi-species cavity ring-down spectrometers for measuring agricultural emissions of NH3, CH4, N2O, CO2 and H2O and ambient concentrations. Measurements need to be performed with a high time resolution, which specifically for NH3 requires inert flow paths and a relatively high sampling flow rate. The instruments will often be used pairwise for upwind and downwind measurements relative to the emission source and requires a very low instrument-to-instrument variability in order to detect small concentration differences. Measurement scenarios include sources providing sub-ppm concentrations (or concentration differences), such as open manure storages and agricultural fields, as well as sources providing ppm concentrations, such as livestock buildings and closed storages.
