Eesmärk
The Institute for Technology and Safety at UiT would like to procure two electric planes for a research project that will obtain experience and examine the performance of such planes in arctic conditions. The research project is being carried out in cooperation between the University of Tromsø School of Aviation (UTSA) and the Arctic Centre for Sustainable Energy (ARC), and it includes local production of electricity from solar panels and wind power.
We have examined the market for electric planes, with a focus on finding plane types that are equipped with, amongst other things, 2 seats, duplicated controls, and a range that can be relevant for use in teaching and training students at UTSA. As far as we know, there is only one type of plane in production that meets the requirements we have for such a plane.
