Østersund secondary school shall be extended from 5 parallel classes to 6 parallel classes with the accompanying areas for support functions for the total number of pupils, including the previous expansion.
The buildings are relatively new and are based on teaching principles that shall be continued. The aim is, therefore, that as few interventions are made as possible in the existing areas. The biggest constructional interventions will primarily be done in the gym building. In addition the existing buildings must be adapted and a small new building must be established for the functions that cannot be housed in the existing buildings.
Culture and Leisure shall be included in the school's premises. They will have areas for their activities in the gym building. The expansion of the school's need for premises will be covered by a new building, which is to be directly connected to the school's teaching premises in the existing buildings.
Amongst other things, the swimming pool has registered damage and a need for concrete renovation.
