Norwegian Nuclear Decommissioning has been given the task of clearing up after Norway's nuclear activities at Kjeller and in Halden. The decommissioning of the sites includes the removal of radioactive sources, disassembling equipment and systems, demolishing structures and buildings, and transferring radioactive material to a site that is certified to receive, store and dispose of the material.
NND plans to announce several contracts in autumn 2021 for technical services. The final decision has not been decided, and the areas will be announced as separate procurements or as sub-areas under the same procurement. Both minor local companies, major international companies, or a combination of them are encouraged to submit tenders for the contracts.
21 framework agreements were signed in the period March-April 2020 with nine different suppliers for technical services. The total limit for these will soon be reached, and NND therefore intends to enter into new framework agreements for the same areas in autumn 2021 in order to prevent an interruption to the progress of planned projects. The aim of the new procurements is to enter into long term contracts to ensure continuity of NND's activities.
NND is publishing this prior information notice in order to prepare the market for the coming new framework agreements.

The contracting authority would like assistance within the following areas:
— project management,
— solution and development of a landfill site and drilling hole,
— technical design and engineering disciplines,
— preparations for and planning of the decommissioning,
— preparation of safety studies.
