A concept choice review (KVU) from 2013 and the quality assurance of this recommended the construction of 300 new prison places in Agder and that the existing prisons in Arendal, Kristiansand and Kleivgrend are phased out as soon as possible. This will mean a net growth of approx. 180 places for the region.
