UV/VIS/NIR spectroscopy is a powerful analytical technique to determine the optical properties (transmittance, reflectance and absorbance) of liquids and solids. It can be applied to characterize semiconductor materials, coatings, glass and many other research and manufacturing materials and it is thus preferred to renew our very old instrument to serve the growing demand from all research groups in need of it at Åbo Akademi University.

UV-Vis NIR spectrometer mainly for research of films, other solids and liquids and for use by research groups from Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physics, and Polymer Chemistry. These groups are involved in high tech research in renewable and electroactive materials research, solar cells, smart packages and similar.

The Contracting Authority currently owns valuable accessories, which need to be compatible with the instrument. There is still many years of operating time left of the accessories. The accessories are listed in Annex 1. If the instrument is not compatible, the Tenderer must offer similar accessories, which will be included in the price comparison.
