The instruments can only be procurement from one specific service provider as competition is impossible due to technical reasons, cf. PPR § 13-4. For system 1 (Orbitrap Fusion Lumos) only the selected service provider can deliver a resolution of 500 000 FWHM and 4 different protein fragmented techniques in one LC-MS system. The instrument shall be used in addition to UiT’s existing "Q-Exactive classic" instrument and system 2 of this procurement. System 2(Q-Exactive HF-X) is a direct upgrading of the existing L’C-MS Q-Exactive classsic’ instrument. Only the selected service provider can deliver a LC-MS/MS system with a resolution of 240 000. Existing established methods can only be transferred by procuring the same technology as the existing system. System 3(UltiMate 3000 RSLCnano HPLC System) can only be delivered by the selected service provider as only this instrument will give the possibility of automated 2D with microflow resolution followed by nanoflow ESI MS. No other service provider can offer a system that can work off-line, and is a whole-automatic nano resolution system, and interact seamlessly with the other two systems.
