Vevelstad kommune at Sør-Helgeland in Nordland has receive a subsidy from Nkom for development of broadband. The municipality has approx. 530 inhabitants and is a sparsely populated coastal and island area.
The municipality shall award a concession contract for the development of broadband in the municipality, that comprises engineering design, construction, ownership and operation of high-speed broadband so that the residents, business and holidaymakers in the municipality have an offer of good and future oriented broadband. Duration of the operation of the broadband is the lifetime of the broadband.
The development shall, as long as practical and economically possible, also include complete and continuous mobile coverage along all public roads in the municipality.
