The procurement is a research project consisting of several elements that shall end up with better knowledge, predominantly about the golden eagle stock at Fosen: what role it plays as a loss factor of lambs; the relationship between animal health and loss to the golden eagles, and the role played by sea eagles. 19600000.00 Norway. The project builds on a completed two year study of the golden eagle and the loss problem in the same area (2014-2015) under the auspices of the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA). NINA will be responsible for leading the project, but shall collaborate closely with the Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research in organising field studies and The Norwegian University of Life Sciences about design, experimental research with feeding and parasite treatment and analysis of manure samples. The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) will be a collaborative partner in connection with radio tagging of eagles. The Norwegian Nature Inspectorate and the Norwegian Veterinary Institute will analyse the causes of loss, in each in their own specialist area. The project is a result of orders from the Norwegian Parliament to further the research on the golden eagles at Fosen. The contract has a duration of 1 year with the possibility to extend for a further 5 years (1 year + 1 year + 1 year + 1 year + 1 year). The Norwegian Environment Agency considers that this contract is included with the exception of R&D services, the procurement regulation §2-5. It is further considered that there are no other research environments that have the competence and capacity requires to perform this combined project as drafted by the Ministry of Climate and Environment and elaborated by the Norwegian Environment Agency following a decision by the Norwegian Parliament.
