All public transport in Oslo and Akershus shall run on renewable energy in 2020.
Ruter has adopted a target for changing to renewable energy on buses by 2025. Electrical propulsion is expected to be dominant in the future and Ruter is now laying the basis for the electrification of buses. Based on the systems that are currently available in the market, quick charging stations at the terminal stop seems to be the most suitable concept for the buses in Oslo.
