Two indoor swimming pools are to be constructed. The Hundvåg building has a total of 2 937 m² and the Kvernevik building has a total of 3 060 m². The difference in size is because the Kvernevik facility has a somewhat larger basement area due to access conditions, while areas in the swimming pool hall and changing rooms are the same in both buildings. Material choices and technical facilities will be the same in both buildings. The buildings are almost the same, the Kvernevik building is mirrored in the relationship to the Hundvåg building. In addition, a electrical sub-station will be built in Kvernevik as a sequencing requirement.
The plan is to start with the Hundvåg swimming-pool building, then move over to Kvernevik swimming-pool building and perform the same job there. (If the contractor is the same for both buildings.) Initial excavation work at the Hundvåg swimming pool, spring 2013. Beginning of excavation work at Kvernevik indoor swimming pool.
