Bærum kommune has a need for and shall procure insurance for users who travel to Bærum kommune's rehabilitation centre in Altea, Spain.
The insurance is to cover users in need of rehabilitation who have been granted a short-term stay at Bærum kommune's residential and rehabilitation centre in Altea, Spain. This covers a total of 38 places. This may also cover users from other Norwegian municipalities. Bærum kommune currently allocates 13 places to Stavanger kommune and two places to Asker kommune. These are to be covered by this agreement, as Bærum kommune administrates the contractual conditions. The number of places used by other municipalities may change during the contract period.
Users are accompanied by an companion who is employed by Bærum kommune's residential and rehabilitation centre in Altea or a companion employed by another municipality which sends users under the applicable agreement. The companions ensure that the users receive help and support during the journey. The companions are nurses or have other health related education/background.
The average age of users in 2013 was around 72-73 years.
