Procurement of Thermal Energy for Bøler Swimming Pool

The aim of the procurement is the supply of renewable energy to Bøler Swimming Pool. Oslo Municipality has a lot of focus on the environment and would like most of the heating to come from renewable energy in accordance with the environment strategy for Oslo Municipality. Bøler Swimming Pool has previously been heated by electricity. Due to an increased need for electricity in Oslo, there is a wish to reduce the consumption of electricity and cover the heating need for the swimming pool with thermal energy. The neighbourhood is supplied with district heating from a local heat station in Bøler. Bio Energy AS is the supplier. The market for the delivery of thermal energy is small, and the preliminary survey in the preliminary project (renovation of Bøler Swimming Pool) confirmed that there is only one supplier (Bio Energy AS) in the neighbourhood. We have concluded that it is technically impossible to provide thermal energy without the required infrastructure and an available site, c.f. the PPR Section 13-4 b) number 2).
