Framework Agreement, Preventing Invasive Species 2020-2021 (Option 2022-2023)

The contract include preventing the occurrence of invasive species in and outside of protected areas in Møre og Romsdal. The agreement period is 2 years, to the end of 2021. Option for 1 year extension at a time, until the end of 2023. The assignments can be divided in two groups: (a) preventing alien, unwanted species by chemicals; (b) preventing alien, unwanted species by mechanical devices. The principal species that must be removed are: Rosa rugosa, Impatiens glandulifera, giant hogweed and Reynoutria japonica. Other alien species, including bushes subject to elimination must also be included in the contract. The work shall take place in the period May-September (October), dependent on the climate and the growth of various species. The estimated total value is NOK 6.0 million, including the option year, and with reservations on funding via the state budget.
