Large parts of the current interrogation systems are based on outdated technology. The systems are old and partly bothersome. This particularly concerns the storage and distribution of interrogations, both audio and video. All interrogations, whether they are in the interrogation room, or at the crime scene, are, in accordance with the Police Directorate's rules, burnt on a CD/DVD. The interrogations are stored in separate CD/DVD archives per district.

The CD/DVD is, by definition, the original recording of the interrogation.

The current work processes with burning CDs/DVDs leads to many unnecessary work processes and is, in addition, an old fashioned, slow and expensive way to distribute interrogation data. The users are particularly unhappy with this part of the current systems.

Some users are also unhappy with the current use of a dictaphone and would like to be able to use a mobile phone to record interrogations, particularly interrogations at crime scenes.

There is a desire to move more police work out to the crime scene, something that is inappropriate with the current system. There is, however, an ongoing project, ‘Police work at Crime Scenes’, which is working on systems in this area.

There is a need to modernise the software, recording equipment, playing, data storage and data sharing.

The aim of the procurement is to establish a new and modern system for interrogation systems.

The police require that legal protection and quality are kept in the new interrogation system. The Police Register Act requires traceability and verifiability.

The new central interrogation system must be able to connect to a dedicated interrogation room in the police network, but also receive interrogations that are carried out in units that are connected to the police's mobile platform Mobiliti, as well as units that are connected via the work station in Origo.

The wanted functionality requires a new, more modern and improved infrastructure in the police. The procured system must, as a starting point, use the current infrastructure and then later be adapted to an improved infrastructure as and when the system is rolled out in the police network.

The police's ICT services intend to procure a well-tested interrogation system.

The software that shall be procured is client software for recording and playing audio and/or audio/video, which is run on PCs/servers in or connected to interrogation rooms, each individual work station/thin client or mobile units.
