The object of procurement is three FEES (fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing) equipment and 2 videoscopes for each equipment (six videoscopes in total). The equipment is used to evaluate swallowing function among stroke patients and other neurological patients, when an accurate evaluation of the swallowing function is required.In addition to patient care, this equipment will also be used for research. The object of procurement is three FEES (fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing) equipment and 2 videoscopes for each equipment (six videoscopes in total) The equipment is used to evaluate swallowing function among stroke patients and other neurological patients, when an accurate evaluation of the swallowing function is required. The research equipment must include a videoscope with an integrated light source, camera and microphone. It must also include a recording system that enables editing of the visual material and records sound. A monitor and a transport trolley are also a part of the procurement package. In addition to patient care, this equipment will also be used for research. The equipment and transport systems must fit to the restricted space available in inpatient wards and intensive care and monitoring units where stationary equipment towers may take up a lot of space at the head of the beds. It must be possible to save the video material and images on the network (PACS compatible system in the HUS network). The equipment will be located in the Neurology Ward M7A and MEMN7B of the Meilahti Tower Hospital (2 units) and the Neurology Rehabilitation Ward 14 of the Laakso Hospital (1 unit). The object of the procurement is described in more detail in the call for tenders and its attachments. We reserve the right to test the equipment. The possible test run will last for three (3) weeks.
