South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (hereafter referred to as Xamk) is requesting offers for GC-IMS for VOC-analysis from air matrix.

When Gas Chromatograph - Ion Mobility Spectrometer is combined with Circular Gas Flow Unit (CGFU), the equipment becomes a mobile unit, allowing the measurement and study of VOCs, or volatile organic compounds, in indoor or outdoor air. The mobility of the device allows that testing can be done directly on site and there is no need to transport samples to the laboratory for analysis.

The project is funded by Tides Foundation, on the recommendation of Google Data Centers Grants Fund.

The criteria for GC-IMS is a gas chromatograph - ion mobility spectrometer:

- Gas chromatograph- ion mobility spectrometer (GC-IMS)
- Circular gas flow unit (CGFU) for mobile measurements
- Portable and independent system, that can be used “on-site” outside of laboratory, max. weight 30 kg
- Individual determination of compounds even in complex mixtures of volatile and gaseous compounds
- Only suitable for applications with air as matrix
- Samples can be injected using disposable/glass syringes, offering an off-device sampling
- Software and library of volatile and gaseous compounds
- Library must be compatible to the software
