When Gas Chromatograph - Ion Mobility Spectrometer is combined with Circular Gas Flow Unit (CGFU), the equipment becomes a mobile unit, allowing the measurement and study of VOCs, or volatile organic compounds, in indoor or outdoor air. The mobility of the device allows that testing can be done directly on site and there is no need to transport samples to the laboratory for analysis.

The project is funded by Tides Foundation, on the recommendation of Google Data Centers Grants Fund.
