The oxygen transmission rate (OTR) testing system will be used in research and teaching purpose within the field of packaging technology, especially in the field of fiber paperboard-based packaging technology. The device will be used mainly in experimental research as well as contract research and therefore the ease of use, flexibility and reliability are of essential importance. The current research at the laboratory is mainly focusing on characterization of fiber-based packaging materials such as paper, paperboards, thin composite films, plastic-paper laminates, separation matrices (membranes) and package lidding films.
