The Nordic Council Environment Prize dates back to 1995 and aims to raise awareness of the important environment work in the Nordic region.

Everyone can propose a candidate for the prize within the theme which is unique and makes the process more democratic.

The project is a branding project initiated by the Nordic Council and Nordic Council of Ministers. The overall aim of the project is to increase the awareness of the Environment Prize among the target group and show how the prize makes a substantial difference for the winners and nominees alike.
