Short description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)
The purpose of this RFI is to collect information from the market. With this RFI Yle is not asking for offers. In addition, it is not necessary to reply this RFI in order to later participate in the possible procurement procedure.
OBJECT OF RFI
Yle is looking for Digital Asset Management (hereinafter "DAM") solution to replace the current image management system and to take over a wider range of workflows compared to the current state.
Please note that considering the rapid evolution of the media industry, Yle needs great flexibility in terms of process modifiability and continuous development. It is foreseeable that the business, environments and customer needs evolve. The preliminary requirements for the service are:
1) Service is provided as a ready-made SaaS (Software as a Service) solution that is ready to be implemented in Yle environment with little customization. Service shall be pre-existing and in operational use.
2) The user interface should be modern, fast and intuitive. UI should be based on widely known, open source web technologies and support all of the major desktop and mobile browsers.
3) All of the functionality and data stored by DAM should be available through open API’s that supports modifying, uploading and downloading new and existing data, by using HTTP protocol and generally used data exchange formats like JSON. Yle and third parties needs to be able to build their own custom integrations and workflows and use and enrich the data as needed.
4) Yle expects the future DAM to have versatile search options that contains search API.
For more details of the targeted solution please see the appendix 1.
Interested participants shall leave their response through the Hanki -eTendering tool. Link is provided in this announcement.
Yle will review the responses to the RFI and if necessary, will have a second round of discussions with participants most suitable to the need.
