With this market survey / prior information notice Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) surveys the market and requests information from suppliers concerning the procurement of automated soil gas flux chambers. Luke is planning to procure two sets of automated soil gas flux systems (multiplexer + 5-8 chambers) in 2024 and one additional set over the next few years. The devices will be used in field conditions in Finland all year round for the purposes of forest and agricultural studies. The procuring entity invites the interested suppliers to participate in a market dialogue by sending their expression of interest and contact details (contact person, email address) by email to

hankintatuki@luke.fi preferably by 9th of February 2024 at the latest. The email should be titled /identified with “Market Survey 347/02 10 01 03/2024, Automated soil gas flux chambers”. The interested suppliers are also kindly asked in their email to provide answers to the following questions: 1. What is the maximum height of the vegetation where your automated chambers can still be operated? 2. What are the required accessories? 3. Are you able to supply supplementary devices/extended support in case of breakdowns to prevent datagaps? What is the timeframe supplementary devices can be provided? 4. What are the weather conditions automated chambers should not be operated in (e.g. freezing/sub- zero, winds, hail/ snow? Do they have automatic safety shutdowns? 5. What is the operating temperature range? 6. Do you offer off-the grid power supplies for your systems? What is the expected operating time with such power supply? 7. What is the expected autonomous operating time without need of active monitoring or maintenance? 8. Can your system be remotely configurated or monitored? 9. Does your system communicate with GHG-analysers? Any specific collaboration with analyser manufacturers? How is parsing the data organized? What is the format of data of chamber status if generated by e.g. multiplexer? 10. What are the weights of different parts of systems (e.g. automatic chamber, multiplexer)? 11. What are ranges of closure times and corresponding flow rate? 12. Do you offer both opaque and clear chambers? 13. How is the pressure relief when closing the chamber taken into account? 14. Are there references, e.g. scientific publications using your automatic chamber? 15. What are the environmental parameters (e.g. chamber temp., humidity, par) your chamber system is able to measure? What is included in default setup and what are extras? The procuring entity may afterwards also send further questions and/or a draft procurement documents to interested suppliers for comments by email.
