Oslo municipality, c/o the Agency for Urban Environment (Norwegian: BYM) invites to an open tender contest related to the delivery of a top system for street and road lights. The Agency for Urban Environment (Norwegian: BYM) is responsible for the majority of the public lighting in the city. This involves, amongst other things:
• 60 000 lighting fixtures for roads, streets and urban spaces
• 5 000 lighting fixtures for lighted ski tracks
• 840 current distribution cabinets connected to a top system for control.
• Electricity consumption for street lightings accounts for approx. 21 GWh/year
With the introduction of intelligent lighting, where Oslo Municipality has been a pioneer, there are currently approx. 30,000 smart and dimmable fixtures installed. The intelligent lighting supports the goals concerning energy efficient operation in line with the goals of Oslo as Europe’s Green Capital in 2019 and "a Smart, safe and green city", and achievement of climate targets. The procurement of a new top system is a part of the overall renovation of street and road lights control.
