FREVAR ønsker å starte et prosjekt for forskning og utvikling av fangst, komprimering, transport og lagring av CO2 ("CCS"). Prosjektet skal utføres i tilknytning til FREVARs avfallsforbrenningsanlegg på Øra i Fredrikstad og potensielt det tilknyttede anlegget til SEBAS ("Prosjektområdet"). Det er behov for en teknologi som vil fungere på røykgass fra avfallsforbrenningen på Prosjektområdet, der stoffene i avfallsforbrenningen kommer fra en unik blanding av fossile og biogene kilder.
FREVAR wants to start a project for research and development of capture, compression, transport, and storage of CO2 (CCS). The project will be carried out in connection with FREVAR’s waste incineration plant at Øra in Fredrikstad, and potentially the associated facility at SEBAS ("the Project Area"). There is a need for a technology that works on flue gases from waste incineration in the Project Area, where the substances in the flue gas come from a unique mix of fossil and biogenic sources.
