Short description

The primary ecosystem, the forest, is home to about 60% of Norway’s 44 000 species and 48% of the threatened species on Rødlista [the Red List]. The objective of this project is to identify the important key drivers for felling in forests as area changing and model which areas are likely to be affected by this land change over time. The project shall be implemented on the existing remote measurement data from Landsat on felling on a global scale that is available through an international web portal, and other data sources. The project shall through advanced geographic analysis highlights how fragmenting, connectivity and nature values are affected by different scenarios, and how one can assess the overall load on the ecosystem. The project includes 2 options.
