After the post-sorting, ROAF IKS shall ensure further processing and disposal of sorted waste and shall follow the at all times applicable regulations for public procurement. Post-sorting, further processing and the disposal service shall be compensated based on the self cost principle cf. the Pollution Act §34. The agreement to be signed shall be valid from 1.3.2018 to and including 28.2.2022 with an option for Halden kommune to extend the agreement for up to 4 years. By utilising ROAF’s post-sorting facility, material recycling is achieves, which is in line with the goal of a circular economy. The post-sorting facility for ROAF IKS is currently the only one of it’s kind in Northern Europe, so there are no other service providers who can offer the same technological solution. The contract is seen as a necessary and appropriate solution to contribute to reaching national and European targets for increased material recycling and the reduction of climate gases. The agreement to be signed shall apply until and including 28.2.2022 with an option for Halden kommune to extend the agreement for up to 4 years.
