The ThermoFisher Scientific Q Exactive HF-X system was introduced in June 2017 as the latest generation of the proprietary Orbitrap series of mass spectrometers. It is the only instrument on the market allowing both scan speeds of up to 40 Hz and a resolution of up to 240 000 at m/z 200. No other instrument enables data-independent acquisition (DIA) at this high resolution. Unique technology reduces filling times and increases numbers of peptides to be monitored by parallel reaction monitoring (PRM) in a single run.
