Tarjousta pyydetään hieentekolaitteistosta. GTK:n yleisimmin valmistamat hieet ovat kooltaan seuraavat: kiillotettu ohuthie ja ohuthie peitelasilla 48 mm x 28 mm. Ohuthieen paksuuden on oltava 0,03 mm, tasapaksuinen ja mineraalien on oltava optiseen tunnistukseen väriltään oikeita. Kiillotetun ohuthieen pinnan on oltava naarmuton. Tarjottavan laitteiston on koostuttava seuraavista erillisistä komponenteista: näytteenirrotussaha, liimauslaite, hiomakone ja kiillotuskone. Kiillotuskone voi olla myös hiomakoneeseen integroitu kiillotuslaite.
