Lease of self-driving minibus for implementation of testing of self-driving vehicles

Kongsberg Kommune has established a test arena for testing and development of self-driving vehicles. As part of the Sohjoa Baltic research project related to the Interreg scheme, the municipality shall implement testing of self-driving minibuses in line with the new legislation which has allowed this. In Autumn 2018, the plan is to start testing of a route from Knutepunktet in Kongsberg to Teknologiparken [the Technology Park]. The pilot testing is planned to be carried out with a 9 month operational period. The municipality wants to hire a self-driving mini bus in cooperation with Applied Autonomy that has been selected as a development and operational partner for Kongsberg Testarena, operation and control of autonomous vehicles.
