The Contracting Authority´s aim is to award a concession contract (cf. point 2.1) to a tenderer, who will take on the total responsibility for engineering design, construction, ownership and operation of a basically good, modern and future-oriented broadband internet, a so called ‘next generation access network (NGA)’ with delivery of content services to households, holiday cottages and businesses.
This new procurement of internet access shall, as far as it is practically and economically possible, be for all relevant households, holiday cottages and businesses in Sømna municipality, with a minimum of 30 Mbit experienced downloading speed. The chosen tenderer must also demonstrate the possibilities for capacity increase in a future perspective in relation to community development. The offered speed, degree of coverage and future scaleability are included in the award criteria, see point 5.
The notice also includes mobile broadband in accordance with the Requirement specifications.
