Vikna municipality shall co-locate the health and welfare services in the municipality, by developing and altering the existing Rørvik cottage hospital to the future Rørvik health centre.
The alteration and development will be carried out in 2 phases, with the 1st phase comprising alterations to level 1 wing B, alterations to 4 resident rooms on level 2 wing C, as well as the development of a new parking cover in an extension of wing B.
Phase 2 consists of a new building (wings D and E), which shall house a doctor surgery, laboratory, dialysis, reception, drugs and alcohol and psychiatry premises on level 0. Level 1 includes a health centre, physiotherapy, canteen and meeting room. Levels 2 and 3 include 17 sheltered accommodation flats. In addition there will be alterations to the existing building in wings A and C and to outside areas. The building is engineered with requirements exceeding passive house and the building is to be constructed as a passive house.
