The new Bodø Town Hall is a project in down town Bodø. The building shall be constructed in the quarter bordered by Kongens gate, Torvgata, Dronnings gata and Havnegata.
The existing town hall building and Norges Bank building (the Bank) shall remain unchanged on the visible facades, but shall be completely renovated and altered internally.
A new six storey building will be constructed that fills the site where the old library was as well as other areas integrating the Norges Bank building and the existing town hall in a combined new town hall building.
The new town hall shall function as an office building for Bodø municipality's administration and, in addition, cover the necessary functions for political work, with offices and meeting rooms for political parties.
In preparation, the builder would like to carry out internal demolition and environmental clearance work of all non-supporting constructions and all technical installations (electrotechnical and HVAC installations) that shall be removed. The buildings shall, thus, be ‘stripped’ internally.
The existing town council room, municipal executive board room and a meeting room called ‘Blåsalen’, which are all in the town hall, shall be kept in the original style as much as possible, but technically upgraded. There shall not be much demolition work in these rooms in this contract.
An ICT server room with the accompanying power supply and ventilation/cooling in the basement in the Bank shall be kept and shall be in operation throughout the entire construction period.
