Prinsensgate 26 is a residential building constructed in 1880-1881 and sited in a conservation area. The building was designed by architect Henrik Nissen.

Parliament is currently planning major renovation of this building. The work will involve complete renovation of Prinsensgate 26, with preservation of its façades, as well as preparing the building for potential future development.

The renovation will include demolition of internal covers and supporting structures, protection of the façade, excavation of a second basement floor, and establishment of a new supporting structure cast in situ within the existing façade.

An outline project for this work has commenced under the direction of Parliament's framework agreement partners. This will be completed in January 2013 and will form a basis for the ongoing process of developing and planning the building.

From the pilot project, the project shall be implemented as a BIM project based on the IFC standard, focusing on collision control, visual inspection and interdisciplinary coordination.
