Avinor has approximately 2.500 VHF radios (Transmitters, Receivers and Transceivers) for ground to air communication in use. The age for the majority of them varies from 1 to 12 years. Avinor has a need for replacement of failing radios, old radios, in addition to radios for new upcoming requirements.
The radios operate in the aeronautical frequency band 188-137 MHz. They operate with output power of 50 W in both 8.33 kHz and 25 kHz channels. Main operational requirements are described in ICAO annex 10 and ETSI EN 300 676-1 V1.4.1. The new radios shall also meet requirements for VoIP as described in EUROCAE ED 136 and ED 137. Remote control and monitoring of status shall be possible from any distance.
