Short description

TRACKS:

A total of 14,3 kilometers of new double tracks shall be built on the stretch Holm - Nykirke, of which 12 km are in the tunnel.

New Holmestrand Station is situated in the middle of the new tunnel and has 4 tracks, of which 2 are platform tracks. There are a total of 9 switches on the route, (4 switches 1:15 R760, 4 switches 1:18,4 R1200 and 1 switch R2500 1:26,1). All switches shall be provided with movable crosses.

Concrete sleepers (JBV60) with Pandrol Fastclip FE attachment shall be used.

Rails, sleepers and switches are provided by award authority.

Overhead Contact Line System:

Overhead contact line System 25 shall be built. In the interface with existing facilities at Nykirke the line shall be gradually adapted to System 35 using two conductor parts, first to System 20A on to System 20B. The interface at Holm shall be with the existing double track using system 25.

AT facility:

An AT facility shall be built on the stretch. There is a separate AT facility for each of the tracks through the tunnel. The AT facility shall be built between Holm and Fegstad where double auto-transformers shall be installed for each track. At Holmestrand Station there shall be an autotransformer for each track, placed in the open outside R7, approx. 100 m away from the tracks.

Masts and yokes:

Masts in the open shall be standard lattice masts type H- and B. These would generally be sized to carry the AT wires on top. In the tunnel standard type Al-hanging masts with brace shall be installed.

Standard steel hanging masts shall be used for the yoke.

Yokes are built as standard Type 12 by Holmestrand, and type 40 in portals by Holm and Fegstad.

Earthing:

Earthing facilities are on the principle of continuous longitudinal earth connections. 2 earth facilities will be constructed, 1 for each track.

Reinforcement in structures such as culverts, concrete elements, entrances and doorways will be connected to longitudinal earths.

Structures have bolts for the connection of bonding to the longitudinal earth system.
