Short description

As National Regulator of Electricity the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) evaluates the social welfare impact of the alternative new DC interconnectors for cross-border trade of electricity. The analysis of energy trading revenues plays an important part. Internal congestions in North European transmission grid may develop, due to implementation plans for new intermittent generation capacity and challenges in implementing major grid investments. Knowledge on the impact on the price formation in both the domestic and foreign landing point market areas are as such essential. Thus, NVE seeks to enhance the knowledge of future patterns of price formation at the foreign landing points due to possible congestions in the internal transmission grid.

The objective of this project is to obtain information about the most relevant congestions that may affect the price formation in the landings point areas on the foreign side of the possible new DC interconnectors that is applicable in fundamental market models.

The total budget of the project is not to exceed 400.000 NOK, VAT not included.

Deadline for submission of tenders is 2 March 2012 at 15.00.

The contract is to be delivered on 2 November 2012.
