Bergen municipality wishes to enter into an agreement to purchase dinners for residents at elderly care facilities, retirement homes, day centres, cafeterias for the elderly etc. and the elderly living at home who receive services from Bergen municipality, see section 1.1.
The contract is for the purchase and delivery of a total of about 440,000 dinner-sized portions annually. Of these, approximately 330,000 servings shall be delivered to institutions and approximately 110,000 servings to be delivered to service recipients living at home. The main objective is to deliver dinners to institutions sous-vide produced food, while the main objective for dinners for home residents is to provide warming/cooling of produced food.For those receiving services at home, cold food is expected to make up about 70 % of the delivery, and hot food will come for about 30 %. For institutions only cold food will be delivered.
The contract also includes the Florida Nursing Home, until the termination of nursing home operations in 2012. They have an annual volume of approximately 25,000 dinner-sized portions.This volume is in addition to the specified volume of 440,000 meals a year.
