The Swedish Transport Administration is responsible for the overall long-term infrastructure planning of road, rail, sea and air transport. Our assignment also includes the construction, operation and maintenance of state roads and railways. We are developers of society and we plan ahead for a holistic integration of the entire transport system. In order for society to develop, the country´s transportation must work. Increased accessibility is becoming increasingly important.
For the railway’s operation and maintenance, the Swedish Transport Administration has identified the need for procurement of bimodal locomotives that can tow away railway vehicles that obstruct traffic and that can also be used for other purposes. In order to achieve a high quality of the procurement documents that reflects the market’s capabilities and potential this request for external review of the procurement documents has been created.
The purpose of this external consultation is to get the market’s feedback regarding the draft documents that Trafikverket plans to use in an upcoming procurement of bimodal locomotives. By enabling the market to share their experience, knowledge and future vision Trafikverket will receive valuable information that will be evaluated and might be used when finalizing the procurement documents.
