The Section for Plant Biochemistry (PLEN, UCPH) is a research powerhouse studying natural products in crops and model plants. Via our own Metabolomics Platform we cover a range of experimental capabilities from analysis of plant extracts to elucidation of chemical structures. However, our ability to isolate natural products from plants is currently limited and represents a significant bottleneck in our work. Thus, we aim to purchase a scalable, preparative LC-MS system that will allow us to efficiently analyze small amounts of plant extracts as well as purify large amounts of compounds.

Thus, we aim to purchase a scalable, preparative LC-MS system that will allow us to efficiently analyze small amounts of plant extracts as well as purify large amounts of compounds. A scale-up function that allows easy conversion between small-scale analysis and large-scale purifications. The function is easy to use and saves time as well as minimizes the waste of precious samples. A delay sensor for direct calibration of detector delay. During the large-scale purification process, this sensor allows the direct isolation of the desired molecules in the right time after being detected, reducing uncertainty and eliminating the risk of human error during purification. This leads to higher confidence in the purity of the final preparation as well as higher reproducibility.
