The aim of this programme is to provide the NRAs with a level of confidence in approaching the era of digitisation, where collecting, managing, and sharing the data from NRAs, third-party service providers and road users will improve the safety, efficiency, and sustainability from road transport. As part of this, road operators will need to build a sustainable and secure data infrastructure to enable the exploitation of data by cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS), and to protect the road users that are utilising it. One element of this is the trust infrastructure that supports the integrity, authenticity, and non-repudiation of data that is shared with road users. This programme looks to develop practical guidance and guidelines to enable NRAs to develop these systems, and to develop a view of the privacy implications of these systems.
