To give a complete picture of brain function from molecules and cells to behavior, MRI spectroscopy plays a key role as it can be used to study brain metabolism.
The objective of this RFI is identifying potential suppliers of a complete double-set 31P/1H head coil system for use on a SIEMENS Terra 7T clinical scanner.
We have decided to publish this RFI for also exploring the technology trends, opportunities and best practices in the market and find out how this can meet our requirements. Please note that we do not ask for a binding tender. Furthermore, the regulations for confidentiality of our administration apply. All information submitted will be treated as confidential.
With regard to the Public Procurement Act, NTNU plans to publish a tender contest for a 31P/1H coil.

The double-tuned proton and phosphorus head coil should provide functionality for in-vivo imaging of the human brain with excellent image quality at both 31P and 1H. An addition to deuterium ability is of interest. The coil system must be connected to the Siemens Magnetom Terra 7T system, and we aim to use the coil throughout the lifetime of the MRI system.
