The responses to this request for information will be used to plan the procurement.

The request for information concerns the treatment of depression in transcranial direct current brain simulation (tDCS). The aim is to identify CE-certified devices in the market for tDCS for the treatment of depression.

The estimated volume of the forthcoming acquisition/procurement is about 30 devices.

Additional information:

The purpose of this request for information is to map the suppliers on the market and their product and service portfolio. The purpose is to find out the technical solutions and features of the equipment. Based on the responses to this request for information, supplier may be offered the opportunity to present solutions which will be announced later. Suppliers who have responded to this request for information may be given an opportunity to comment on the preliminary tender documents.

This request for information does not bind joint municipal authority for Kymenlaakso Social and healthcare services or Helsinki and Uusimaa Hospital District to the procurement.

The goal is to reach the tender phase during 2022.

Definitions of the request for information:

As a preliminary introduction to the purchasing process following later, Kymsote and HUS would like to have further information on the following topics before 15th of December, 2021.

We want to emphasize that this is not an official request for quotation:

1. What solution do you have for producing tDCS depression treatment?

2. What are the differences, advantages and disadvantages of owned and leased equipment from the perspective of the procurement unit?

3. The average lifespan of the tDCS device when it is owned by procurement unit?

4. How often your equipment needs to be serviced and what maintenance means for procurement unit? How long the service takes before device is back in procurement unit use? What the cost of servicing is based on?

5. How is ease of use and home care taken into account in your device?

6. What should a procuring entity consider when bidding for tDCS depression treatment devices?

7. Do you know of a good public procurement tendering for tDCS for depression treatment? Mention one.
