Short description
The purpose of the assignment is to provide information on selected environmental pollutants in post-consumer plastics. Plastics from waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and end-of-life vehicles (ELV) are the primary material streams of interest. However, plastics from buildings and construction is also of interest. The primary objective is to obtain information on levels of the chlorinated flame retardant Dechlorane Plus (DP) and the brominated flame retardants penta-, octa- and decaBDE. In addition, information on levels of other dechloranes and the monoadducts of Dechlorane Plus, chlorinated paraffins (SCCP and MCCP) and additional flame retardants and additives in these material streams are also of interest. Furthermore, the project should provide knowledge about the presence of per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS) including fluoropolymers, perfluoropolyether polymers and side-chain fluorinated polymers.
