Statens vegvesen [the Norwegian Public Roads hold an information meeting about the planned competition to build a new four lane motorway on the stretch of the E16 Bjørum-Skaret in Bærum and Hole municipalities.
The contract concerns engineering design and construction of around 8,4 km of new E16 motorway. Approx. half of the length runs through the tunnel, divided into 2 tunnels, respectively approx. 0,8 km and 3,3 km. The open-air road is characterised by major rock cuts and there is extensive blasting works and removal of loose matter in the project. The stretch includes 5 longitudinal bridges in a line with lengths of approx. 120 m to 220 m and 5 overpasses. The contract will include engineering design and construction of automation systems for the stretch, with functionality for a 2-way regulated tunnels and connection to the Road Traffic Centre in Oslo.
