The procurement is for the hire, operation and maintenance of 24 hour resting places for heavy transport along the E16 in Oppland, on the stretch from Fagernes to Vang. The 24 hour resting place must include sanitary installations.
The aim of the procurement is to develop a better offer for heavy transport drivers who must have normal 24 hour rest, reduced weekly rest (maximum 45 hours) and take breaks (45 minutes) that comply with rules and provisions on driving and rest time provisions. These rules mean that drivers who drive heavy vehicles must take breaks and sufficient rest so that they can have a normal sleep period. Rested drivers are important for traffic safety.
