The objective of the procurement is to give NTNU's researchers and students access to a robot platform that is suitable to carry out research in SFF AMOS, Institutt for marin teknikk, institutt for teknisk kybernetikk and NTNU Vitenskapsmusee [Institute for Marine Engineering, Department of Engineering Cybernetics and NTNU Science Museum. AMOS’s vision is to establish a world-leading centre for autonomous marine operations and systems.
NTNU AMOS has comprehensive research on snake robotics with a large group of PhD students, MSc students and researchers. A considerable number of doctoral students and MSc students work full-time on the snake robotics research. For this purpose, NTNU must also have the best available equipment for snake robotics experiments.
